Community STaR is an outreach service of CHETRE (Centre for Health Equity Training, Research and Evaluation). The ‘STaR’ stands for Service for Training and Research. Community STaR works with the locationally disadvantage communities in South West Sydney to support a safe, healthy and vibrant local community based on social justice, life-long learning, community empowerment, fairness, a sense of belonging and a celebration of harmony and diversity. It builds on strengths, resilience and knowledge within the community, fosters social connectedness and develops evidence-based action research.
